We are seeking a highly experienced and results-orientated Director of Sales to lead our company’s efforts in developing and selling alternative energy solutions. The Director of Sales for Alternative Energy Services will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, building, and managing relationships with customers, and achieving sales targets.
Accountabilities:
Following is a menu of Key responsibilities that fall within the scope of the Director of Sales for Alternative Energy Services
- Develop and execute a strategic sales plan for alternative energy services, including solar, wind, HVAC, DR/DSM and geothermal.
- Build and manage relationships with key customers, including government agencies, utilities, and commercial businesses.
- Provide subject matter expertise, coaching and mentoring to our channel managers to achieve sales targets.
- Stay up to date on industry trends and advancements in alternative energy products and technology to provide expert advice to the Company and its customers.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, marketing, and finance, to achieve company goals.
- Provide regular sales reports to management and make recommendations for improvements.
Organizational Dimensions/ Scope:
Position requiring responsibility in:
- Support sales through fulfilling requests for pricing.
- Support executives through forecasting and strategic planning.
- Develop and implement new alternative energy sales channels.

Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or related field
- 8+ years of experience in sales, with at least 5 years in the alternative energy industry
- Strong understanding of renewable energy systems and technologies
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets and building successful customer relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with government regulations and compliance related to alternative energy is a plus.
- Experience leading and managing a sales team is a plus.

Primary Purpose
The primary objectives for this role are to initiate and qualify online prospects, sell gas and/or electricity products and services, and to renew and maintain strong business relationships with customers identified and assigned in each designated sales territory. This individual will be responsible for the development of a territory in the industrial and commercial market segment.
Responsibilities
- This position is responsible for delivery of agreed sales targets in terms of overall gross margin, customer numbers, and energy volumes in the industrial and commercial market segment.
- Establish a network of channel partners within a territory.
- Manage multiple accounts of established and potential customers.
- Meet defined sales/financial goals and objectives assigned to each region and overall business unit.
- Support the internal service delivery systems by working cooperatively and effectively with all members of the service delivery team.
- Cross train with account management team as back up support when necessary.
- Provide all information needed to ensure completion of all necessary customer agreements.
- Remain current on the competition and market conditions.
Requirements

- Must possess prior experience selling consultative services with a great understanding of doing needs analysis.
- Must have a successful track record of selling and closing contracts – candidates will be required to demonstrate prior skills.
- Minimum of 1-3 years experience in direct / inside sales and marketing consultative selling.

- Strong computer skills, including establishing rapport with clients through regular contact by phone and in person.
- Must have excellent product and customer knowledge to educate customers on pricing and application of competitive advantages to meet or exceed customer needs.

Education

- Identify and qualify prospects, create effective presentations, obtain needed usage information to generate proposals, prepare proposals, negotiate and close deals within an acceptable time frame, obtain authorization on contacts, exhibits, and other required documentation, and act as a liaison between operations and customers as needed.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The primary objective of this position is to assure that the assigned day-to-day accounting activities are carried out in accordance with established accounting principles, and Company policies and objectives. The individual in this position assists with the monthly closing process by preparing various financial schedules and analysis, assists and supports the Controller and the CFO with the compilation and timely distribution of financial statements prepared in accordance with GAAP and supports the implementation of accounting controls. This position requires the application of well-established accounting principles, theories, concepts, and practices to resolve problems.
Essential Functions:
- Accounts Payable, including reviewing and processing vendor invoices for payment, research discrepancies, manage company credit card(s), maintain vendor w9’s and 1099 information.
- Accounts Receivable, including reviewing and posting customer payments to accounting, collections
- Perform monthly closing activities, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and reports.
- Cash management including daily commercial banking, cash flow projection support, bank reconciliations.
- General office administration duties, including notary public, purchasing supplies, maintain relationships with office vendors, answering phone as needed.
- Coordinates and develops information, data and processes to meet formal and informal data requests from management, regulators and other parties.
- Prepare special project financial analysis upon request.
- Assist with providing accounting support to external auditors as directed by Controller and CFO.
- Work and communicate with various internal and external groups including general accounting, finance, operations and customer service.
- Perform other job-related duties as deemed appropriate by the Company.
Qualifications:
Bachelor or Associate Degree, preferably in Accounting.
- Minimum of three (3) years of general accounting and account analysis experience.
- Team player, willing to pitch in with cross-departmental needs.
- Comfortable problem solving independently and recommending solutions.
- Proficient at Microsoft Office, with emphasis on Excel.
- Accounting software experience with QuickBooks helpful.
- Billing system experience helpful.
- Exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Ability to effectively organize, manage, and balance multiple tasks and priorities.
- Natural Gas and Power industry experience preferred.
